How do you select the properties featured on your site?

We personally handpick all properties, focusing on family-friendliness, comfort, and always, a touch of style. From thoughtful layouts to amenities like bunk beds or baby equipment, we only recommend places we’d stay in with our own kids.

We are parents and islanders, and we understand what families need on their precious time off. Whether it’s hotels, villas, or boutique farm stays, every recommendation is handpicked and personally vetted to deliver on three key essentials:

  • Style: Beautiful, inspired spaces with thoughtful modern touches where they matter most — because traveling with kids shouldn’t mean compromising on design.
  • Parent Perks: convenience and comfort can make all the difference on holiday. Think excellent restaurants just steps away, spacious family rooms for everyone to unwind, secure gardens where kids can safely play, or an in-room spa for that much-needed massage during nap time.
  • Family Fun: Stays near sandy beaches, unforgettable outdoor adventures, playgrounds, or kid-friendly dining, with thoughtful extras like toys, games, and splash pools.

What’s the best time of year to visit Mallorca with kids?

Spring and early autumn (March–June and September–October) are ideal for warm sunny days, quieter beaches, scenic mountain adventures, and leisurely city strolls. Summer (July and August) brings vibrant family-friendly festivals, buzzing (& busy) resort towns, and endless activities. Winter offers a calmer pace, perfect for cultural escapes, magical Christmas events, and a truly laid-back vibe.

Rainy days? They happen—even in Mallorca! You might get a few showers in late August or September, and the odd storm through winter and early spring. But don’t worry, we’ve got plenty of ideas to keep the kids happy and you sane when the sun takes a breather. And trust us, it never stays away for long in Mallorca!

Which areas of Mallorca are best for families?

Each region shines for different reasons. From calm beach days on the North coast to adventurous hikes in the Tramuntana and cove hopping in the South, we break down the best spots by family holiday style here

What’s the best beach for families?

With 262 beaches to choose from, it all comes down to your family’s vibe. For little ones, Playa de Muro is hard to beat—think clear, shallow waters, soft sand, easy access and plenty of amenities close by. Feeling adventurous? Cala Mondragó delivers aquamarine escape vibes with a side of exploration on its nature trails. A little closer to Palma and family-favourite, Portals, with its own island and beach bars, is always a crowd-pleaser.

Are there family-friendly activities beyond the beach?

Absolutely! From hiking and boat trips to cycling routes, water parks, and cultural excursions, Mallorca is packed with adventures for all ages. Head to The Family Edit to discover many great day trips, or check out our top picks here

Do you recommend hiring a car in Mallorca?

It depends. A car is essential for rural stays and beach-hopping trips, but places like Palma, Palmanova and Sóller are easily explored without one, thanks to excellent public transport options. Read more about getting around Mallorca here
