Porto Petro
If you’re looking for five-star family ease without the usual all-inclusive chaos, Ikos Porto Petro might just be it. Set between two coves on Mallorca’s southeast coast, close to the charming village of Porto Petro and a short drive to Cala d’Or, this polished resort combines space, style, and proper family-friendly credentials.
Book nowAll-Inclusive goes luxe – Michelin-star menus, curated wine lists, sensational spa (with kids treatments too!), proper poolside cocktails and a complimentary Tesla Model 3 for a day of exploring
Grown-Up Dining – A la carte restaurants with proper linen, grown-up wine lists, and kids’ menus that understand little appetites.
Location, Location – Set between two quiet coves and just a stroll from the charming village of Porto Petro, it’s easy to slip out for a coffee, a boat-watching wander, or dinner away from the buffet.
Sleeping
Rooms and suites are airy, elegant, and made for families who don’t travel light.
Family suites and two-bedroom suites easily accommodate families of up to five, with a mix of sofa beds and spacious layouts.
The best rooms for families wanting to be close to the action are near the Deluxe Pool or beach — well worth requesting if you prefer not to hike across the resort with beach bags and inflatables.
Eating
Restaurants: Five restaurants (Mediterranean, Italian, Asian, Spanish, and a beachfront grill) plus we love the ‘Dine Out’ programme that allows you enjoy meals in local restaurants.
All-Day Options: Room service is available 24 hours a day. You can have pizza by the pool or a late-night cheese board after the kids crash out.
When to visit
May, June, September: Glorious weather without peak summer crowds. High season (July-August) is buzzy but beautifully managed (and great for school aged kids looking for new friends!)
The hotel is open from April to October.
Need to Know
The resort is big — beautiful, but big. Expect a fair bit of walking between rooms, pools, beaches and restaurants. There’s a buggy service running regularly around the resort, but families with toddlers (or teens who pretend they can’t walk) might want to factor in a little extra time to get about.
Families might want to opt for the Deluxe Collection, which includes perks like a dedicated Deluxe concierge, an exclusive pool and beach area, upgraded room amenities, and a complimentary neck and back massage.
Kid’s Clubs: Included for ages 4+. Crèche for 4 months–3 years available at extra cost. Pre-booking strongly recommended.
