Cala Pi transforms into a glorious natural playground once the summer crowds disappear. From the beach, start your hike with a clamber up the cliffs above the fisherman’s huts, follow well trodden trails to the hidden cove of Cala Beltràn (dip if you dare!) then continue along open paths with breathtaking views stretching to Cabrera and beyond.

Loop back or retrace your steps for a well-earned picnic on Cala Pi’s sandy shore✨

📍Location: Cala Pi to Cala Beltran and beyond. Easy parking above the beach at Cala Pi.

🚶‍♀️ Trail Length: Circular routes of 2.5km (Cala Beltràn), or 5km (+ longer)

💪 Difficulty: Easy after the uphill climb from the beach. Stick to the INLAND trail to avoid a short but sheer section of high coastal cliffs at the mouth Cala Pi’s.

👶 Best For: Sturdy walkers aged 7+.

‼️ Not suitable for pushchairs. Avoid the cliff path with young children

🧺 Pack a picnic and snacks, limited cafe options at Cala Pi off-season.

This short but stunning hike with the kids to Es Salt des Freu takes you through meadows, oak and pine forests, then over the winding Torrent de Coanegra on stepping stones. The journey to the falls is as delightful as the destination itself!✨

📍 Location: Near the village of Orient in the Tramuntana

🚶‍♀️ Trail Length: 3.1 km (approx. 30 minutes each way), plus plenty of time for climbing & exploring the falls

💪 Difficulty Level: Easy on the main trail, but little ones will need hand-holding descending to the falls for safety

👶 Age Suitability: Best for sturdy walkers of ages 4+

‼️: Not pushchair-friendly. Use baby carriers with caution - the trail can get slippery!

🎾 With tennis legend Rafa Nadal announcing his retirement last week, we decided it was the perfect excuse to visit his childhood hometown of Manacor for some sporting inspo — and a little fun away from the sun!

🏆 The Rafa Nadal Museum is a unique interactive experience, perfect for older kids, teenagers, and sports fans. Test your skills in the interactive room with football, tennis, Formula 1, and more. Then, explore the exhibition room, where you can learn about Rafa’s incredible career and admire memorabilia from sporting legends including Messi, LeBron James and of course Rafa’s 22 Grand Slam titles.

Here’s what you need to know before you go;

🎯 Age suitability: VR experiences are for kids 1.2m+ and Formula 1 is for 1.6m+. Younger children will enjoy some games but the interactive room is best for ages 7+.

⏱ Plan for 1 to 1.5 hours, incl. a stop at the café. The interactive games are all upstairs and you can’t return later so stay and play before heading to the exhibition room.

☕️ Grab a coffee or snack at the on-site cafe, or enjoy lunch at the adjoining restaurant (kids menu available). Both overlook the Rafa Nadal Sports Club—you might catch a game!

👶 Pushchair accessible with elevators and ramps throughout.

🚗 Free on-site parking, though it can get busy, especially on rainy days.

🎟 Residents get a discount and children under 8 go free.

For a full day out, combine your visit with a fresh fish lunch at nearby Portocristo harbor. 🍽️ 🐟 🏖️

👟 With an early start ⏰, late October in Mallorca is often perfect for coastal hikes with the kids. The summer heat is easing, but it’s still warm enough for a swim at the end of your trail. Plus the promise of ice cream and a dip at the finish line keeps little feet moving! Here are a few of our favorite family-friendly coastal routes:

🦎 Sant Elm – A dramatic 4km forest loop with panoramic views of Dragonera Island. Plan time for a swim and lunch at one of Sant Elm’s excellent fish restaurants.

🧺 Portals Vells to Cala Figuera Lighthouse – A relatively flat 5km out-and-back trail along the coast from the beach at Portals Vells. Pack a picnic to enjoy on the rocks and don’t forget hats, it’s less shady than others.

⛰️ Cami de Sa Volta Des General – This 9km out-and-back route from Banyalbufar to Port des Canonge is long relatively flat and quite stunning. Reward the kids with a half time picnic, ice cream or cold cerveza before heading back along the scenic path.

🏰 Cala Fornells to Cap Andritxol – A popular, shaded 4.5km loop with sea views. There’s a steep(ish) climb to the tower, but you can shorten the route if needed. Stop for a picnic at Cala d’en Monjo, or head to the charming Cala Fornells hotel for a swim and gazpacho.

How it started vs how’s it’s going with the small group classes @hadleysclubmallorca … Lots of laughs, plenty of bumps, but most of all, epic achievements. Now to test those skills on the sea (possibly in a wetsuit!)

Bodyboard min height - 107cm
Flowboard (stand up) min height - 132cm

💪 Must be a strong swimmer (v. strong current) and a disclaimer must be signed for each participant.
