Family Friendly Vibe
Cala Barques, Cala Molins & Cala Clara make up the 3 sandy beaches of the small resort town of Cala San Vicente (in Catalan, Cala Sant Vicenç), approx 12 mins drive from Pollenca or Port de Pollenca in the northwest. Cala Molins is often busier due to the number of hotels and holiday apartments perched behind it. Both Cala Molins & Cala Barques are Blue Flag beaches, with clear turquoise water, soft sand, beach amenities (as below) and beautiful dramatic views of Cap de Formentor in the distance. It is worth noting that occasionally the sea can be rough, waves high and the flag red - check the weather or wind reports if you are taking young children or planning for a day of watersports.
Beach Basics
Both Cala Molins and Cala Barques offer sun loungers and umbrellas to rent, along with showers and toilets, plus a lifeguard on duty during the summer months.
Family Fun
A small shop on Cala Molins rents kayaks and SUPs for the day, also organising family friendly excursions to discover the Blue Cave and other adventure sports. You can also go scuba diving organised through local dive companies. Both beaches are relatively small (approx 50m width) and dominated by parasols and lounge chairs so there is limited space on the sand in peak summer months to play. That said, when calm, the water is perfect for snorkelling.
Refuel
Excellent Mediterranean dining with a view at Cal Patro, an easy going beach bar on Cala Molins and a number of laid back seaside cafes with burgers, salads, sandwiches and tapas.
Access
Both beaches are easily reached by car following signs off the main route towards Cala Sant Vicente, you'll find a parking lot and free parking around the village but may have to park a little further up in peak summer. There is also public bus that comes here from Pollenca.
