The Sóller train and tram experience is so much more than a journey. A fun day out that takes you back in time while enjoying breathtaking views of the mountains, valleys, and Mediterranean coast, this historic railway has been connecting the town of port and town of Sóller with Palma since 1912.

Train Ride from Palma to Sóller: The adventure begins in Palma, where families board the vintage wooden train. The train chugs through the picturesque Tramuntana Mountains, passing through tunnels, over bridges, and alongside vast orange groves and olive farms. The journey, takes approximately one hour.

Tram Ride from Sóller to Port de Sóller: After a coffee, brunch or lunch and stroll stop, continue your journey onto Port de Sóller on the historic tram. This tram has been running since 1913 and provides a charming 5-kilometer trip from the town center to the seaside. The ride offers views of the lush countryside and traditional Mallorcan architecture, ending at the beautiful bay of Port de Sóller.

Port de Soller is a perfectly formed seaside resort with wonderful restaurants, a safe family beach, and plenty of cafes where you can enjoy the must try 'Soller Flip' (local orange juice with ice cream).

Travel back to Palma the same way, or use the excellent local bus service. Taxis are also easy to arrange if you want to travel privately, and take approximately 30-40 mins back to Palma.

Tickets can be purchased online in advance or at the train stations in Palma (Plaza Espana), Bunyola or Soller.

Check the schedule in advance and arrive early, as the trains and trams can get busy, especially in peak tourist seasons.
Pack Snacks: While there are dining options in Sóller and Port de Sóller, packing snacks for the journey can keep kids happy during the ride.
Don't bring the dog! Pets (except guide dogs), bicycles and electric scooters are not allowed on board.
