Mallorca’s Blue Flag Beaches 2024 – A Family Friendly Guide

This year, an impressive 20 Blue Flags have been awarded to beaches across Mallorca, recognising their top-notch cleanliness, safety, facilities and environmental care – key ingredients for a perfect family beach day. The Blue Flag is awarded annually by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) and based on 32 criteria, including family friendly favourites:

💦 Pristine Water Quality: Regular testing to ensure safe, clean waters for swimming

🛟 Safety and Services: Trained lifeguard professionals to keep a watchful eye on busy beaches in the high season (& adequate lifesaving equipment available at more remote spots). Drinking water must be available. Note that not all Blue Flag beaches are step-free but at least one in every municipality must offer ramps and full wheelchair access

🚽 Well Maintained Amenities: Well-maintained toilets nearby and the beach must be kept clean with on-site rubbish bins and recycling. Note that showers are not a requirement

♻️ Environmental Education including; a well-displayed beach map with information on water quality, the local environment and suggestions for local educational or eco-activities.
