Family-Friendly Vibe
Set in the peaceful natural park of Mondrago on the southeast of the island, the picturesque Cala S'Amarador stretches 145 meters and is surrounded by pine trees and dry national park. With no direct road or public transport access, it remains quieter than its neighbour Cala Mondrago. However, during high season, both the car park and the beach fill up, so arrive early.
Cala S'Amarador boasts Blue Flag status, with soft white sand, clear turquoise waters, and a seasonal lifeguard. It's easy to see why this beach is a firm favourite among both local families and tourists alike.
Beach Basics
The beach has a very limited number of sunloungers and umbrellas for rent, at the back near the chiringuito. There are no beach showers, but there are basic cabin toilets (seasonal).
Family Fun
The water is crystal clear, mesmerisingly blue and perfect for snorkelling. Alternatively, enjoy the stroll between the bays of Mondrago or on one of the self-guided tours of Mondrgao Natural Park. There are no watersports but pedalos can be rented from nearby Cala Mondrago.
Refuel
Cala S'Amarador has its own small chiringuito with snacks, sandwiches and drinks, alternatively head along the seaside path to Cala Mondrago's Sa Font de n'Alis restaurant for a shady Mallorquin lunch.
Access
The car park for Cala S'Amarador is easy to reach by road, but be sure to follow the road signs rather than relying on your sat nav. Once parked, it's a 5-8 minute stroll down a sandy lane, including some steps, to reach the beach. During high season, the car park fills up quickly, and there are no alternative parking options, so arriving early is essential. Payment for parking can be made by card at the car park entrance.
There is no direct bus service to S'Amarador. If you prefer public transport, take a TIB bus to Cala Mondrago and walk across to S'Amarador. The bays of S'Amarador and Mondrago have separate access roads and car parks, but you can easily walk between them from the beach itself.
