Sa Llavor

Who - Sa Llavor school has been created and opened in 2007 as an independent and and non-profit, autonomous school.  Currently there are 100 students at the school across Infant and Primary Depts. The language of learning changes according to the different activities, creating a balance in the use of languages. Catalan, Spanish and English coexist in respect and harmony.

What - Escola Sa Llavor has become the first approved Center for Infant and Primary Education that teaches Holistic Pedagogy, authorized by the Department of Education and the University of the Balearic Islands.

In Sa Llavor the teacher becomes a mediator of learning. It facilitates that girls and boys experience, acquire and transmit knowledge by themselves, and in this way develop confidence in their possibilities, creative capacity and personal initiative.

We do not use textbooks. The students, with the support of the teachers, create their own material in an artistic and creative way from different bibliographical sources and didactic supports.

Why - Sa Llavor is a pioneer in Spain in Holistic Pedagogy and introduces an innovation in the teaching methodology and form. Educates through experience and sustainable ethical principles, taking into account the child’s vital, emotional, intellectual, social and spiritual needs at each stage of their growth and development.

The educational focus lies within a holistic pedagogy and innovative teaching methods that educate the child through experiences and ethical principles that take the emotional, intellectual, social and spiritual necessities in each stage of its growth and development into account.
