Family Friendly Mallorca is the island’s go-to guide to experience the very best of Mallorca with kids. We help you cut through the noise to find places to stay that are genuinely family friendly and with plenty of perks for the grown-ups too. Whether you’re planning a slow summer week by the sea, a winter weekend escape or a multi-generational birthday blow-out, we make it easy to travel well with kids — without compromising on comfort, aesthetics or sanity.
Alongside places to stay, we cover the best experiences for families — from beach walks and local hikes to rainy day rescues, cultural outings and seasonal fiestas. On Instagram, you’ll also find our weekly round up of the best family events and a fast-paced look at some of our favourite things to do and places to go.
I’m Kate — writer, explorer, mum of three, and former luxury brand marketer who swapped city life for mountain hikes, Mediterranean swims and a slower, sunnier pace. After 15 years between London and the Middle East, we moved to Mallorca in 2021 with three young children in tow (each born in a different country), and uncovering the very best the island had to offer for families quickly became both a priority and a passion.
Many moons ago, I built something similar in Beirut after the birth of my first child. Back then it was all baby carriers and buggy-friendly cafés. These days, it’s about keeping almost-tweens and teens off screens and out in the real world — which is where Mallorca really shines.
Living in Mallorca, friends would often get in touch asking where to stay — somewhere with a pool, a kids club, a gated garden, close to the beach…. Then came the next round of questions: where to eat out, which beach works best with toddlers, where to stay with independence-craving teens. I’d curate lists, send links… and realised just how much time and guesswork it took to get things right. There was simply too much choice online, and not enough help finding genuinely brilliant places to stay with kids — especially for families who didn’t want to sacrifice style for practicality.
And then it was my turn. We wanted to go away for a winter weekend in the Tramuntana mountains – something with hikes, roaring fires, cosy corners and space for the kids to run free. I hit a scrolling dead-end. But the beginning of the road for Family Friendly Mallorca; the island’s go-to guide for stylish, stress-free holidays and experiences, through every season.
We don’t list every place to stay that has a cot or kids’ menu — we show you the ones you’ll actually want to stay in. The ones with a little soul and more than a touch of style.
That might be a seaside hotel with a family room for five, a countryside B&B with quality sheets and knockout views, or a simple but stylish villa you don’t need to drive from every time you want a swim.
Everything on this site is carefully selected and independently written — no generic travel fluff. We do occasionally partner with brands we trust, and any collaboration is always clearly stated. We live here. We travel with kids. We know what works.
