Best Beach Eats – Mallorca’s Top Family Friendly Beach Restaurants

Feet in the sand, food on the table, the kids playing on the beach just a stone’s throw away. Delivering serious holiday vibes every day of the week, we’re taking you round the island from Palma to Portocolom and everywhere in between to visit our Top 20 Family Friendly Beach Restaurants in Mallorca.

This is a two-part island wander, starting here with our top 10 favourites across the southwest and north coast. Each spot pairs good fresh food with easy peasy beach access and sparkling Med views. Some are ideal for a casual bite, others also work for something a little more special — a long family lunch, a birthday, or just a proper holiday treat — but all are within steps of the sea.

Most of our picks have easy access (though a few involve steps), and while parking is close by, it fills up fast in Summer. Book ahead, go early, and don’t forget a shirt — swimsuits alone won’t cut it at most tables. And if you’re thinking “what on earth is a chiringuito!”— it’s a casual Spanish beach bar, usually open-air, often sandy-footed, and more often than not reliably good for something grilled!

Shallow turquoise water, soft sand, and a calm cove just 15 minutes from Palma — Balneario Beach Club & Restaurant ticks a lot of boxes. Plus, it’s a walk from the bus stop, which keeps it a little quieter than towel-to-towel Cala Contessa next door.

Book a sunbed if you fancy a snooze after lunch, and order from the all-day menu while the kids hit the ice cream stand or paddle out. There’s a kids’ menu, shade, and just enough polish to feel like a proper outing. It’s also great for breakfast when the beach is at its most magical.

Il Chiringo

In the heart of bustling Palmanova, this is a much-loved toes-in-the-sand chiringuito that is a go-to for families throughout the year. The wide beach is perfect for ball games, the pine trees for playing in the shade, and the playground behind, for those who just need a swing! The kid’s menu is bigger than most and the main menu has everything from seafood to pasta to poke.

Maria 5 Beach

Spacious, stylish and just behind the beach, Maria 5 serves up a people-pleasing Asian fusion menu that works for the whole crew — think sushi, seafood, shawarma or steak, plus burgers (with a veggie option too).

Kids can scamper to the nearby playground on the sand, and if you linger into the late afternoon, you might catch the live band setting up. With a killer cocktail list, comfy chairs and stunning sunsets, you may just stay all day. It works just as well for early dinners as it does for long lazy lunches.

Set on a little island connected by a wooden bridge, this one feels like a treat. Spanish & seafood-focused but with veggie and kids’ options, and a calm beach below. Kids will love crossing the bridge, and can clamber on the island’s rocks if they are old enough (and supervised).

After lunch, jump off the rocks and swim to shore for a face in the sand snooze (if they let you!). Book ahead and request a seaside table for special occasions.

Cala Conills

A long-standing Sant Elm favourite known for fresh fish and slow paella lunches with a view. The restaurant sits just above the sandy beach, and while it’s not ideal for little ones keen to bolt into the sea (there’s a small road to reach the beach) it works well for older kids. The fresh fish and sea views across to Sa Dragonera do most of the heavy lifting. Book ahead.

North Coast

Patiki Beach

A Puerto de Soller classic, Patiki takes simple locally grown food and delivers stand-out dishes with flavours that keep it fully booked Spring & Summer long. Adults love the food, the vibe, the relaxed open kitchen (and the tiki-style toddler play area). Kids love catching crabs in the rock pools just in front of the restaurant. The menu doesn’t call out kids’ food but they’ll rustle up a tomato pasta the kids will love. Make sure to bring a fishing net.

Casual tapas vibes, and right on the sand at the far end of the beach — this is the kind of place where kids can paddle while you wait for grilled fish, all your tapas favourites and a perfectly chilled cerveza. Plus there’s spag bol for the testy toddler.

The sand is not so soft but the water just in front is calm and shallow, and lunch here easily drifts into a barefoot afternoon of beach lounging, snoozing, and catching up with friends.

Milano Beach

Chilled-out and perfectly perched, Milano Beach serves up Mediterranean meat and fish favourites, rice specialities, plus salads and snacks from its breezy terrace overlooking the sea.

It’s relaxed, well-run, and hits that sweet spot between grown-up and family-friendly. High chairs are available, staff are welcoming, and there are handy showers at the entrance plus an easy car drop-off just outside — ideal if you’re arriving fully loaded. There’s also a quiet corner on the terrace perfect for a coffee and ice cream fix if you need to escape the sun and sand for a few minutes.

Ponderosa Beach

Eco-conscious and effortlessly cool, Ponderosa specialises in rice dishes and fresh fish. The kids’ menu isn’t an afterthought. (fresh fish to rival nuggets) , and the shallow water nearby is perfect for post-lunch swims. While you work your way through a seafood paella, the kids will love the powder soft white sand and shallow beach.

Can Gavella

Paella with your feet in the sand, mojitos in hand, and little waves in turquoise water just beyond your table — Can Gavella is the kind of beach restaurant you plan your day around. Set right on the sand near Can Picafort, it’s known for its relaxed vibe, woven basket decor, and excellent seafood paella.

There’s also grilled octopus, burgers, pastas and salads, plus a solid kids’ selection. Live music or DJs often pop up in the afternoons — especially on Saturdays — making it easy to linger long after lunch. It’s a local (and personal) favourite, so book ahead — and don’t try to park in the residential zone; instead, find a spot along the main road from Can Picafort to Alcudia and enjoy the short walk in.

Patiki Beach – Port de Soller

Now all that’s left to do is pick your beach, pack a bucket, and settle in for a long lunch by the sea (just don’t forget to book — it’s the easiest way to guarantee an easy-breezy day out).
