- When the waves arrive, Kite boards and surf boards zoom through the waves so this is not a safe bet for swimming (head to Playa de Muro instead)
- A safety vest or swim support is recommended for little ones.

- Parking is free, easy and close to the beach.
- There is no natural shade or organised beach sunbeds with umbrellas, so bring a beach tent or sun umbrella (with wind support)
- There are toilets and a shower at the back of the Bach.

Eating out at Son Serra is as relaxed as the beach itself. All three restaurants are family-friendly with mostly outdoor seating, and each has a few tables inside for the occasional chilly or windy day.
- El Sol Restaurant & Bar – closest to the main beach and parking, with an L-shaped terrace overlooking the bay on both sides. Paella, authentic pizza, fresh salads and generous portions make it a reliable choice for a laid-back family lunch or early dinner. Kids menu available.
- Blue Tamarindo – a breezy terrace with views under the pines across the water, with Mediterranean meat & fish dishes plus fresh salads, pastas and more. A relaxed spot for a special meal by the sea.
- Moomba Beach Cafe – a barefoot beach-front bar set a 10-minute stroll along the seafront towards Son Real, serving smoothies, wraps, burgers and cocktails from late morning through sunset. Easygoing, fun and perfect for families.

Son Serra keeps its laid-back feel by not having big hotels, but you will find the simple and family-run Apartments El Sol set just back from the beach with a few studios, small apartments and an easygoing atmosphere.
